Desert Lapis (Dumortierite)



Hard, opaque gemstone, (aluminum borate silicate) usually a dusty, often dark denim blue, though rarely brown, green, violet or pink (Violite).  It is rapidly gaining popularity, probably because it goes well with denim. Dumortierite Quartz is blue colored quartz containing abundant dumortierite inclusions. Sometimes mistaken for Sodalite  and has been used as imitation Lapis Lazuli.

Character:  Calming; Insightful; Relaxing; Harmonious; Confident; Supportive; Patient; Focused

Element:  Air and Water

 

Mystical Properties:

 v Mentioned as useful in treating addictions and compulsive/impulsive behaviors.

v Improve the ability to stand firm and keep resolve.

v Provide stamina when subjected to harsh environments.

v Release old negativity, worry, confusion.  Acts like a strong breeze blowing away the cobwebs.
